End of July Update

Hello friends, thanks for tuning in to another update.

This month has been rather busy and it’s beginning to wind down, giving me time to work on some of my crafts as and work on troubleshooting my 3D Printer.

After my last post, I have been spending quite a bit of time troubleshooting my 3D printer as the print quality declined with each print for a while. After struggling for the past couple of weeks, my partner took a look at it and realized a screw was loose. Tightening that fixed the issues I was having, I’m so thankful for his help on getting it running again. However, I ran out of the sample filament, and the sample pack I ordered only sent a very small amount of each color, so I’ve been limited on what I can print. We have more filament on the way, and I’m very excited to dive deeper into 3D printing.

While I was either killing time during test prints or taking a break I tried to keep myself busy with some crafts. I created a puzzle from an engraved photo, it’s actually double sided to give it an extra challenge for the person this is a gift for. I also worked on engraving a few circle cut outs with some artists that will be at Wakaan to see how their logos would come out on my silver to black material. The sparkle pins are leftover pieces from cutting circles out, but I loved how they looked so I wanted to do something with them. I may make a few into earrings or other accessories to add a little sparkle to any outfit. ✨️

I also decided to break out my paints and do a little abstract painting. I have a few ideas of things I’m considering adding as I feel the current painting looks great as a background but needs something a little more.  To keep my hands busy I colored in one of my many color books, and I was very happy with how it turned out.  Then for date night, after going to a local show, my partner and I built this Harry Potter Potions Classroom Miniverse set that I had picked up on clearance. I just love how interactive the set was to build using little tools to spread the “cement” (glue) and using resin to make our potions.

As for music this month, I went to an event a little different than what I usually go to and went to the more Rock based festival Minnesota Yacht Club where I saw acts like The Beaches, Sublime, 311, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and Green day. It was a great switch up, and all the acts we saw sounded amazing. My partner and I also went to a little local event at a state park for a few hours where the local artist played vibey bass music.

That’s all I have for now, next month I don’t have very much on the agenda other than a few family events. That will hopefully give me time to run my 3D Printer more, come up with a few more designs for my shop, and keep working on projects that come up. I hope you’ll all stay tuned for future updates, until then have fun, be safe!
