Test Runs of my Laser

Now I know with this being a festival/music based blog you may think that I am talking about the kind that you see at the shows. However I am talking about my laser machine that I use to engrave and cut things out of wood and other materials! I own a X-Tool M1 Ultra, this 4 in 1 machine is pretty awesome. I have mainly been using the laser as I have previous experience working with lasers like this. I do only have the 10W laser, but it has been working well for my current projects.

I have been making some key chains as gifts for my friends. I will be going to a Ravenscoon show this weekend so I have made up a few of these to hand out as gifts at the show!

I also made these test runs that are currently being used as coasters. The dragon design is Dragon Coin 2.2 by Allen the maker, I ran the design with 3 passes at slightly higher setting than recommended because it initially came out far too light. It was a decent attempt at the 3D relief graving, and I hope to hone in on this type of engraving. The mandala was just quickly generated using the X-Tool’s workspace AI while I tested out the outlining options.

On the topic of AI I would like to be fully transparent that I do and will be using AI on occasion, typically it may be to help with grammar or used to make thumbnails for the blog posts, simple things that can be completed much more quickly by an AI so I can focus on other things like creating my own designs and content to share with you all. I will be marking any post that uses any AI generated images.

Anyway, back to the laser engraving, I definitely will be making plenty of things in the future to bring with me to events. I have lots of fun things planned that I will be creating soon that I can’t wait to share with you all!

If you are looking to get started with laser engraving I would highly recommend an X-Tool machine, mine had a very easy set up and I love the design space. It’s super easy to use and they have tons of guides and tutorials to help get you started. This is not paid for by them or anything, just my honest experience using their M1 Ultra so far.

Time for me to get back to designing, thanks for tuning in and I hope you all have a wonderful day! I’d love to hear your thoughts on laser engraving, the use of AI, or anything else that may be on your mind.
